Dushanbe-Chanak Highways Is Temporarily Closed
DUSHANBE, 03.01.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The Dushanbe-Chanak highway connecting the capital to northern regions is temporary closed for traffic due to heavy snowfall and avalanche. Starting from the 31st kilometer, the road condition is very serious, says the press center of the Branch of Innovative Road Solutions (IRS) in Tajikistan. The work on clearing the highway of snow is under way.
“In order to ensure the safety of citizens, IRS has temporarily closed the highway for all types of vehicles,» notes the IRS.
IRS and the Emergencies Committee under the government of Tajikistan are advising people to refrain from traveling to mountain areas at this time.
