Tajikistan To Temporarily Ban Entry and Exit of Foreign Nationals Amid Coronavirus Pandemic
DUSHANBE, 10.04.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan informs that in order to implement emergency measures to prevent the entry and spread of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the entry and exit of all citizens of foreign states and stateless persons through all checkpoints on the state border of the Republic of Tajikistan.
It should be noted that these restrictions do not apply to diplomats of foreign states and representatives of international organizations and financial institutions, as well as members of their families accredited in the Republic of Tajikistan. In case of entry of the specified category of persons into the territory of the republic, the procedure of compulsory 14-day self-isolation in the places of their permanent residence under the supervision of employees of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan is provided.
Also, temporary restrictions do not apply to drivers engaged in international cargo transportation (according to the temporary order), crews of aircraft and crews of international railway traffic.
If it becomes necessary to leave the Republic of Tajikistan for citizens of foreign states that are not included in the above categories, the Republican Headquarters for the Prevention of Penetration and Distribution of COVID-19 is ready to consider official appeals of the states of their affiliation, including the organization of charter flights.
