Eight Uzbek Virologists Arrive in Tajikistan to Assist Tajik Doctors

DUSHANBE, 08.05.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Eight Uzbek health professionals arrived in Dushanbe today to assist local doctors in the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19.

The government of Uzbekistan has also provided humanitarian aid to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan for the diagnosis and treatment of  coronavirus.

Humanitarian aid includes disinfectants, antiseptics, medical gowns, respirators, goggles, gloves, masks, IVL medical equipment, and various medications.

Jovidon Amirov“Eight virologists who came to our country from the neighboring republic for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with caronavirus can facilitate the work of our doctors,” said Chief Specialist of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population Jovidon Amirov.

This is the second time that Uzbekistan has sent humanitarian aid to Tajikistan.

The first package, which was sent to Tajikistan to prevent the spread of coronavirus on April 9 per President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s instructions, included 18 aid cargos consisting of flour and disinfectants.
