DUSHANBE, 22.05.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today at 09:30, the district department of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) in Rushon conducted a special operation to arrest a 44-year-old dangerous criminal Sharof Kobilov, who is the native and resident of Barushon village, reports the Press Center of the SCNS Department for GBAO.

During the operation, while wielding a knife, Kobilov attacked and wounded the head of the district department Samariddin Chuyanov. Despite this, Chuyanov was able to lead the operation and arrest the leader of an organized criminal group.

Kobilov was the main organizer and participant of the operation to traffick narcotics from Afghanistan which took place on May 1 at the Barushon border crossing. At the time Kobilov managed to flee. On that date, a particularly large amount of drugs was seized and two of Kobilov’s accomplices were arrested.

Criminal case has been filed against him and an investigation is under way.

Chuyanov was hospitalized and his health condition is assessed as satisfactory.

The SCNS Department for GBAO notes that the Committee’s employees will intensify the fight against organized crime in the region, especially trafficking of drugs, arms, and ammunition, and will do all that is necessary to ensure the security of citizens, society and the state.
