Dushanbe Court Sentences Members of Criminal Drug Group
DUSHANBE, 26.06.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – A court in Dushanbe sentenced members of the criminal drug group led by Mukim Kurbonov also known as Mukimcha, Mukimchik and Bachai kampir.
Kurbonov himself and two other group’s members, Ruhangez Nazirov and Hikmatullo Boronov, were sentenced to 20 years in prison. Four more criminals, including Siroj Nazirov, Shamsiddin Salimdodov, Zoir Latipov and Dovarsho Kalandarov were sentenced for 15 through 17 years to be served in a maximum security colony, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan.
The individuals were convicted under article 200 (illicit trafficking in drug or psychotropic substances for sales purposes) of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan.
The court also confiscated the property of the convicts in favor of the state, including a two-story building, a limonary, the Asia shopping center, a dwelling located in Norak, as well as seven foreign-made cars.
This drug group consisting of seven people was detained three months ago by employees of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Dushanbe.
More than 70 kg of various drugs were confiscated from this group.
