Khatlon’s COVID-19 Cases on a Decline
DUSHANBE, 02.06.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – According to the analysis of health workers, the number of COVID-19 cases in Sughd region is declining. This information was provided at the meeting of the Regional Commission for Strengthening Anti-Epidemic Measures and Prevention of COVID-19 Transmission by the region’s Chairman Kurbon Hakimzoda.
So far, about 4,000 people have been treated for pneumonia and infectious diseases, and currently about 180 others are supervised by doctors in regional hospitals.
Khatlon’s administration is expanding anti-epidemic measures, and its cities and districts are regularly disinfecting the buildings of organizations and institutions as well as streets.
“So far, 1.1 million somoni have been transferred to a special account for tackling COVID-19, and a total of more than 11 million somoni has been allocated for anti-epidemic measures in cities and districts of Khatlon,” said Hakimzoda.
Hakimzoda instructed officials to further strengthen anti-epidemic measures, provide working conditions for hospital doctors, social support of health workers, public health, education of children and raising medical awareness of children, adolescents and youth, and the promotion of public awareness on the observance of personal hygiene.
