Coronavirus Had No Effect on Export of Agricultural Products
DUSHANBE, 14.07.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Regular monitoring of the effectiveness of using the country’s agricultural potential indicates a significant increase in total agricultural production. This information was provided yesterday at a press conference by the Minister of Agriculture Amonullo Salimzoda.
Salimzoda noted that during the past six months, the total agricultural production in all forms of economic management has reached 9.39 million somoni, which is 8.2% more than in the same period of 2019.
According to him, compared with the same period last year, grain production has increased by 5.5%, vegetables by 15%, melons by 16.4%, fruits by 1.8%, grapes by 9.9%, meat by — 9.0%, milk by 6%, honey by 1.0%, fish by 79.3%, and eggs by 44.3%.
As of July 1, Tajikistan has exported 96,447 tonnes of crop production in the amount of $12.6 million to neighboring countries, which is 24,247 tonnes or 33.6% more than last year.
In particular, onion exports during this period have increased by 43.2%, citrus fruits have increased fivefold and dried fruits and nuts by 9.4%.
