Health Minister: COVID-19 Cases Decreased By 15 Times

DUSHANBE, 24.07.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The incidence of COVID-19 cases from the highest level reached in mid-May has decreased by 15 times. This information was provided today by the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Jamoliddin Abdullozoda at a press conference.
Abdullozoda explained that there is a certain stabilization of the spread of this disease in Tajikistan.
Additionally, he added that Tajikistan has all the necessary facilities to provide medical care to patients with COVID-19, in particular, medication, protective gear and antiseptics.
While considering the reliability of tests for coronavirus, Abdullozoda explained that at the beginning of the pandemic, the reliability of tests for COVID-19 was 60%. With the development of experience among healthcare professionals, including virologists, the reliability has increased to 93%.
Over 183,600 express tests have been delivered to Tajikistan, including 110,000 from China, 27,000 from Russia, 25,000 from Kuwait and 21,600 from Uzbekistan in order to timely diagnose COVID-19 at the laboratory level.
