Over 4,000 Tajik Citizens Have Returned Home During the Pandemic

DUSHANBE, 27.07.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – A number of special flights have been organized to return Tajik citizens who were abroad during the pandemic and the resulting border closures. This was stated by the head of the Civil Aviation Agency Ikrom Subhonzoda at a press conference.
Special flights returned citizens from Russia, Turkey, Poland, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, India, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Italy, Ukraine, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kuwait, China and the United States.
“During this time, over 4,000 citizens have returned from these countries, and 173 tonnes of medical equipment and medicines have been delivered,” Subhonzoda noted.
He also added that in the last six months, two domestic and 12 foreign airlines operated flights from the Dushanbe International Airport. In total, the country’s international airports served over 494,100 passengers.
