Tajikistan Signs Another Grant Agreement for Sebzor HPP Construction

DUSHANBE, 23.07.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – A grant agreement for the provision of €18.6 million for the construction of the Sebzor hydroelectric power plant (HPP) was signed between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan and the German Development Bank.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has already attracted $55.2 million for Sebzor’s construction.
Its power capacity, which is located in GBAO’s Roshtkala district, is 11 MW.
In 2019, within the Agreement on Financial Cooperation signed between the governments of Tajikistan and Germany, the German side provided €17 million for Sebzor’s construction.
Also in 2019, under an agreement signed between the governments of Tajikistan and the Swiss Confederation, Switzerland allocated $9.55 million for the construction of a 110 kV Sebzor-Khorog power transmission line, an open switchgear 110 kV.
Additionally, the World Bank allocated $1.9 million for the preparation of a feasibility study for the 110 kV power transmission line Khorog-Ishkashim and the US Agency for International Development — $ 3 million for the necessary research of Pamir Energy OJSC.
