AFC Considers Postponing Asian U16 and U19 Championships

DUSHANBE, 26.08.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The Asian Football Confederation has informed the national football associations whose teams will compete in the Asian U16 and U19 championships that they are considering postponing the continental championships to next year.
The Asian U16 Championships is scheduled to be held from November 25 through December 12 in Bahrain. According to the draw results, the Tajik U-16 team got into Group B along with Oman, Yemen and the United Arab Emirates.
The AFC is also considering hosting the Asian U-19 Championship, which was to take place from October 14 through October 31 in Uzbekistan next year. The Tajik team will play in Group D against Malaysia, Yemen and Qatar.
The decisions to postpone the Asian U16 and U19 championships must be ratified by the AFC Executive Committee, which will meet in September.
