DUSHANBE, 03.08.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – From August 2 through August 5, mobilization training and a complex of joint operational-strategic exercises with live firing are being held in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) with the involvement of the troops of the Khorog garrison.

Military training and exercises are organized by the General Staff of the Armed Forces. The Minister of Defense Sherali Mirzo will directly monitor all the planned activities.

Over 10,000 people of the personnel of power structures and state bodies, citizens who are in the reserve of the region, are involved in military events.

According to the plan for joint operational-strategic exercises, along with the involvement of infantry units and special forces, military transport aircraft, various weapons and ammunition, 300 units of armored vehicles, artillery of various types, special military and cargo vehicles are also used.

Additionally, as part of the camp for mobilization training, a joint Command and Control Headquarters was created, which checks the reserve of conscripts and equipment necessary for this important event.

The purpose of these exercises is to improve the coordination and experience of the personnel of the power structures, activating the forces and means of territorial defense zones, and increasing psychological, combat and physical readiness.

The final stage of the joint military-strategic exercises will be held on August 5 with the organization of a military parade of units of the state and security structures of GBAO.
