Deputy PM Ismatullozoda Chairs Interdepartmental Commission Meeting on the Migration Processes Regulation

DUSHANBE, 01.09.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Deputy Prime Minister Shirin Ismatullozoda chaired a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on the Regulation of Migration Processes under the government of Tajikistan.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population Gulru Jabborzoda and members of the commission, deputy heads of the relevant ministries and departments.
The meeting focused on the implementation of the governmental decree On the Medium-Term Plan for Organized Resettlement of Environmental Migrants for 2017-2020 in the Khatlon region, the activities of the migration service in the field of information and explanatory work between labor migrants and training labor migrants before the trip, implementation of the governmental decree On the Action Plan for the implementation of the concept on attracting compatriots living abroad as partners for the development of the country for 2015-2020, the state of labor migration in Tajikistan and approval of the work plan of the Interdepartmental Commission on the Regulation of Migration Processes for 2021.
The Migration Service was given additional instructions to strengthen information and explanatory work among labor migrants and preliminary training of labor migrants, in collaboration with ministries and departments to protect the rights and interests of labor migrants abroad, to organize work in foreign countries, and to implement additional measures to prevent COVID-19 among labor migrants.
Also, the meeting participants approved the Commission’s Work Plan for 2021.
Following the meeting, Ismatullozoda gave specific instructions to the relevant ministries and departments on the timely implementation of government’s instructions in the field of labor migration, internal and environmental migration.
