Defense Minister and Commander of the Russian Central Military District Discuss Cooperation and Security in Central Asia

DUSHANBE, 25.11.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – The Minister of Defense Sherali Mirzo and the Commander of the Russian Central Military District Alexander Lapin discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and security in Central Asia.
The number of large-scale joint events has almost doubled over three years, reaching 12.
“The quality of the events has allowed us to gain tremendous experience in the preparation of military command and control agencies, to link the systems of reconnaissance and fire destruction, as well as to come to unified tactics considering the combat experience gained in Syria,” said Lapin.
The parties also exchanged views on maintaining security in the Central Asian region. In addition, the commander of the forces delivered a report on regional security and joint training tasks for 2021 to the senior staff of Tajikistan.
