Rustam Emomali Meets Moscow Mayor Sobyanin

DUSHANBE, 26.11.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, while on his official visit to Russia, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali met with the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin.
The meeting focused on a set of issues relating to bilateral cooperation between Dushanbe and Moscow, and the identification of priority areas for further cooperation.
Special attention was also paid to the issues of labor migration and ways of solving the problems of migrants in connection with the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The parties also discussed the expansion of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the principles of strategic partnership, interregional cooperation, cooperation in the field of coronavirus prevention, the intensification of trade and economic cooperation and the establishment of direct contacts between economic entities.
They also spoke about the need to expand cooperation in the field of education, development and strengthening of scientific and technical cooperation, healthcare, tourism, expansion of Russian language education in Tajikistan, as well as preparing and modernizing the material and technical base of communal services.
Following the meeting, Rustam Emomali and Sergei Sobyanin signed a Cooperation Program for 2020-2023 between the Dushanbe Chairman’s Office and the Moscow Government.
The program is aimed at expanding ties to promote the economic development of Dushanbe and Moscow.
Rustam Emomali invited Sergei Sobyanin to visit Dushanbe. The invitation was accepted.
