Construction of Dushanbe-Chortut Highway Project Commences

DUSHANBE, 02.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the construction of another important infrastructure project in Tajikistan — the eight-lane Dushanbe-Chortut Highway Project was officially launched. That is the 1st phase of the proposed Dushanbe Ring Road.
The Project is being executed under the $20,000,000 grant in aid assistance announced by India for Tajikistan during the state visit of Indian President Ram Nath Kovind to Tajikistan in October 2018. Indian Border Roads Organization (BRO), whose specialists arrived recently to Dushanbe, has been entrusted to expeditiously complete this project.
First Deputy Chairman of Dushanbe Amirkhon Kurbonzoda, Indian Ambassador to Tajikistan Viraj Singh, head of BRO Task Force in Dushanbe attended the launching ceremony.
