Khatlon’s Volume of Gross Agricultural Production Sees an Increase

BOKHTAR , 05.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Last year, the volume of gross agricultural production increased by almost 10% in Khatlon, said the head of the Regional Statistics Department Kurbon Hakimzoda at a press conference.
According to him, last year the gross agricultural production in all categories of farms in the region amounted to nearly 17 billion somoni, which is 9.5% more than in 2019.
The volume of production in plant growing amounted to over 12.3 billion somoni, and in husbandry it reached over 4.6 billion somoni. In 2020, all types of farms in the region produced over 1.4 million tonnes of vegetables, which is 116.8% more than in 2019. In all categories of farms in the region, over 589,000 tonnes of melons were produced, which is 105.4% more compared to the same period in 2019.
In 2020, all categories of farms in the region produced 209,000 tonnes of fruits, which is 103.8% more compared to the same period in 2019.
