DUSHANBE, 15.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The World Wrestling Union (WWU) has published a revised world ranking of the bests, in which four Tajik athletes, including Hikmatullo Vohidov, Muhammad Ikramov, Iskandari Rustam and Mubinjon Ahmedov entered the top-20.
Ikramov occupies a higher position. He took 12th place in the weight category up to 61 kg in freestyle wrestling. Vohidov is in 13th place in the 57 kg weight category. Rustam ranks 17th, in the 97 kg weight category. Ahmedov is in 20th place in the weight category up to 63 kg.
All four athletes won medals at the Asian Championship last year, including Vohidov and Ikramov who both won silver, while Rustam and Ahmedov won bronze. Ikramov also finished fifth at the 2020 World Championships in Belgrade.
Ikramov and Ahmedov receive financial support from the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan to receive passes to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
