Plan for the Implementation of the Decisions of the CSTO CSC Session and the Priorities of the Tajik Side in 2021 Is Approved

DUSHANBE, 18.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Chairman of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO CSC), President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon approved the Plan for the implementation of the decisions of the CSTO CSC session and the priorities of the Tajik side in 2021. This information was provided today by the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas following his meeting with President Rahmon.
According to Zas, the document was prepared on the basis of the decisions of the December (2020) session of the CSTO CSC, taking into account the proposals put forward during the session and at the meetings of the Council of Foreign Ministers, Council of Defense Ministers and CSTO Security Councils Secretaries Committee with an emphasis on the priorities of Tajikistan’s chairmanship.
“The plan provides for practical measures in the spheres of political, military, military-economic and military-technical cooperation, interaction in countering the challenges and threats to the security of the member states. Most of the events under this plan will be held in Tajikistan with the participation of representatives of the CSTO member states in person. For this, a favorable situation has been developed in Tajikistan,” said the CSTO Secretary General.
“While discussing issues of the international and regional agenda, special attention was paid to the development of the situation in Afghanistan, as well as the tendency of increasing global threats of terrorism, extremism, various forms of radicalism and transnational organized crime, including drug trafficking. Unfortunately, the situation in Afghanistan remains difficult,” Zas emphasized.
