DUSHANBE, 21.05.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Over 70% of the country’s population is under 35 years old. This was stated today by President Emomali Rahmon at a meeting with the country’s youth.
According to the UN Population Fund, Tajikistan is one of the countries where youth predominates, and the average age of the population is 22.5 years.
Along with this, Emomali Rahmon emphasized that according to statistics, over 70% of the country’s population is under 35, therefore Tajikistan is considered a country of youth.
“This indicator requires us to take many measures in the field of education and development of the intellectual and physical abilities of the young generation of society,” he noted.
Over almost thirty years of independence, a regulatory, organizational and infrastructural basis for state youth policy has been formed in Tajikistan, dozens of regulatory legal acts and a complex of political, economic, social and cultural issues that are directly related to youth have been adopted.
Youth Day is celebrated annually in Tajikistan on May 23.
