China Delivers Two Million Doses of CoronaVac and Syringes to Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 28.07.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, 2 million doses of CoronaVac and syringes have been delivered from China to Tajikistan as humanitarian aid.
The reception ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Matlubakhon Sattoriyon, First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Ghafur Muhsinzoda, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khusrav Noziri and a representative of the Chinese Embassy in Tajikistan.
Head of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Safety, Emergencies and Emergency Medical Aid of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population Navruz Jafarov said that according to the preliminary agreement between the governments of Tajikistan and China, 2 million doses of CoronaVac vaccine delivered to Tajikistan today.
“According to the action plan and the distribution of vaccines, from today vaccines will be distributed in all cities and regions of the country, depending on the target population, which will intensify the vaccination campaign against the coronavirus infection in Tajikistan,” Jafarov noted.
According to him, next week additional packages of the European-made AstraZeneca vaccine are expected to be delivered through the international COVAX mechanism.
“To date, more than 4 million doses of the vaccines have been delivered to Tajikistan. Currently, the population’s need for the vaccines is growing. I would like to urge the entire population, depending on the conditions and possibilities, to get vaccinated, to protect themselves from the disease,” Jafarov said.
To date, more than 474,000 people have been vaccinated in Tajikistan.
