DUSHANBE, 26.08.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Dushanbe and Paris are interested in boosting cooperation, The Élysée Palace press service said in a statement following the latest telephone conversation between President Emomali Rahmon and President Macron.
“The President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron had a telephone conversation with President Emomali Rahmon on Wednesday, August 25. He congratulated President Rahmon and the Tajik people with the 30th anniversary of state independence, which will be celebrated on September 9th. He noted his willingness to develop new forms of cooperation, in particular on the issue of borders,» the statement reads.
“The two presidents shared their deep concern about the situation in Afghanistan, and jointly discussed the situation of Afghan refugees, as well as the consequences of the Taliban rise to power in Kabul. They agreed to continue their exchanges with a view to ensuring regional stability and security. Macron invited President Rahmon to visit France on October 13th,» the press service concluded.
