Macron Supports the Uncompromising Position of the President of Tajikistan in the Fight Against Terrorism and in the Protection of Women’s Rights

DUSHANBE, 14.10.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – French President Emmanuel Macron believes that the official visit of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will provide an opportunity to develop a dialogue on regional security and stabilization of the situation in the region. The French leader spoke about this on Wednesday before the start of talks with the President of Tajikistan at the Élysée Palace.
“Your official visit provides an opportunity to develop a dialogue on regional security issues. We will discuss the assistance that France could provide to Tajikistan in stabilizing the situation, as well as our assistance to the entire region,” Macron said addressing Rahmon.
“I would like to note your principled position in strengthening regional stability, your uncompromising attitude in the fight against terrorism and in the protection of women’s rights,” stressed Macron.
He recalled that Tajikistan has a long border with Afghanistan and shares with France the concern over the situation in the region.
According to the French President, they will continue to exchange views on regional security issues, which they began during a telephone conversation a few weeks ago.
