Negmatulloev Wins First Victory at the AIBA Men’s World Boxing Championships in Belgrade

DUSHANBE, 27.10.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajik boxer Shabbos Negmatulloev defeated the German representative Silvio Scherle in the first round of the 80 kg weight category of the 2021 AIBA Men’s World Boxing Championships, reports the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan.
The fight between Negmatulloev and Scherle took place on the night of October 26. Negmatulloev won with a score of 3-2. In the second round, he will face Samuel Kamara from Sierra Leone on October 30.
Today, Khusravkhon Rahimov (57 kg) will fight against Yilmar Gonzalez (Colombia), Saidikrom Amonov (67 kg) against Martin Skoheim (Norway), and Jahon Kurbanov (92 kg) against Elli Ochola (Kenya).
Tomorrow, in the 60 kg weight category Abdurahmon Yakubov will fight against the winner of the pair Mizan Aykol (Turkey) / Roland Veres (Netherlands) and Parviz Karimov in the 92 kg weight category against Jamar Telei (US).
On October 30, Bahodur Usmonov will fight against Ilya Shakirov (Russia) in the 63.5 kg weight category, and Abdumalik Boltaev against Sumit (India) in the 75 kg weight category.
The AIBA Men’s World Boxing Championships started on October 24 in the Serbian Belgrade and will run until November 6. More than 500 athletes from 88 countries are taking part in the championship in 13 weight categories, which is unique in the history of the competition.
For the first time, the winners of first places will be awarded a medal, belt and a prize of $100,000, second and third places will receive medals, and $50,000 and $25,000, respectively.
