Rustam Emomali: Effective Implementation of Economic Reforms Allowed the Tajik Economy to Grow Steadily

DUSHANBE, 15.10.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Dushanbe hosted the International Investment Forum Dushanbe-Invest-2021 in honor of the Day of the Entrepreneur, and the declaration of Dushanbe as the cultural capital of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in 2021.
The forum was organized by Dushanbe’s administration in collaboration with the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management of Tajikistan.
In his online opening remarks, Dushanbe Chairman Rustam Emomali noted that the forum is aimed at further improving the investment climate in Tajikistan, developing business, strengthening cooperation with domestic and foreign entrepreneurs and investors, and for creating favorable conditions for the economic development of the country.
The investment climate in Tajikistan, especially in Dushanbe, has improved and entered a qualitatively new stage due to the direct efforts of President Emomali Rahmon, he said.
Dushanbe Chairman also noted that the effective implementation of economic reforms in recent years has contributed to the country’s sustainable economic development and the creation of thousands of new jobs, providing opportunities and benefits for small and medium-sized businesses, and reducing poverty.
First Deputy Prime Minister Davlatali Said said that Tajikistan has established diplomatic relations with more than 190 countries, including with domestic entrepreneurs, which have trade and economic relations with more than 100 countries.
The purpose of the forum is to provide investment opportunities, intensify the process of attracting investments, strengthening the production of import-substituting products, increasing the export potential, expanding cooperation between entrepreneurs and investors, providing opportunities for the development of modern businesses, and promoting the implementation of the fourth strategic goal related to the industrialization of the country.
The forum is timed to coincide with the annual celebration of the Day of the Entrepreneur.
The forum was attended by about 400 guests from foreign countries, investors, entrepreneurs, and development partners. As part of the forum, 11 new documents on cooperation in the direction of creating joint industrial enterprises worth more than 5 billion somoni were signed between public and private sectors, entrepreneurs, and investors.
Following the official part of the forum, further work was organized in five separate panels.
Also, as part of the forum, a bilateral meeting of entrepreneurs and investors in the B2B format was held.
The forum participants visited the International Exhibition Tajikistan-2021. Autumn, as well as the historical and cultural sights of Dushanbe.
Taking into account the contribution of domestic entrepreneurs to the development of the national economy, October 14 was declared the Day of the Entrepreneurs in 2014. As part of this date, the country hosts an annual forum of investors, which is attended by hundreds of domestic and foreign entrepreneurs and investors, heads of international financial institutions, high-ranking representatives of foreign countries, and other economic partners.
