DUSHANBE, 25.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Resident of Tavdem village of Roshtkala district, 29-year-old Gulbiddin Ziyobekovak is wanted for committed a crime under Articles 181, part 3 (hostage-taking by an organized group) and 189, part 3 (Incitement of national, racial, parochial or religious hatred) of the Criminal Code on the basis of the materials of the investigation of the Prosecutor’s Office, reports the press center of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).

On November 25 at 11:30, during an immediate detention operational-search measures, he put up armed resistance to law enforcement officers and opened fire with a Makarov pistol, which was in his possession. As a result of the returned fire, he was injured.

During the inspection of the scene, the criminal’s weapon, — a PM pistol with a magazine and five cartridges was found and seized.

On February 1, 2020, Ziyobekov and his accomplices from an organized criminal group kidnapped A. Abirzoda, an assistant prosecutor in the Roshtkala district, and beat and tortured him for eight hours in the villages of Anjim and Barjangali of the same district.

The GBAO Prosecutor’s Office has filed a criminal case against Ziyobekov and his accomplices. However, he and his accomplices have ignored repeated calls from investigators and did not appear to testify. Therefore, they officially are on the wanted list.
