Tajikistan Receives 868,000 Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine

DUSHANBE, 06.12.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – As part of the СOVAX mechanism, on December 5, Tajikistan received 868,000 vaccine doses against the coronavirus.
Of the total number, 546,000 doses are CoronaVac brand vaccines, 200,000 doses are AstraZeneca vaccines, and 122,000 doses are by Moderna.
The AstraZeneca vaccines were brought from Austria, and Hungary, and the Moderna from Croatia.
Representatives of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Tajikistan, the Consul of Hungary in Tajikistan, the Asian Development Bank and other officials took part in the transfer ceremony at Dushanbe International Airport.

Vaccination will help intensify the campaign to immunize the country’s population against COVID-19.
Since the beginning of the immunization campaign against COVID-19 in Tajikistan to date 3,118,210 people or 53.5% of the population has been vaccinated with the first dose and 2,641,449 people or 45.3% of the population received the second dose.
To date, 7,705,200 doses of the vaccine have been delivered to Tajikistan.
