An Exhibition of Tajik Historical Artifacts in Paris Closes

DUSHANBE, 11.01.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On January 8, the Guimet National Museum of Asian Art hosted the closing ceremony of the exhibition of historical artifacts “Tajikistan — The Country of Golden Rivers.”

It was attended by politicians and representatives of ministries and departments of France, especially the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of the French Republic, scientists, historians, artists, researchers, representatives of civil society and the media, as well as Tajik nationals living in Paris, and responsible persons of the Embassy of Tajikistan in France.

The Assistant to the President for Social Development and Public Relations Affairs Emomali Nasriddinzoda spoke at the ceremony and noted that the inhabitants of France and Europe received interesting and extensive information about Tajikistan’s beautiful mountainous nature, which created a good basis for the further development of cooperation between Tajikistan and France.

He expressed the gratitude by President Emomali Rahmon and the government of Tajikistan to the leadership of France, to the Director of the Guimet Museum Sophie Makariou, as well as to all those who contributed to the organization of the exhibition.

Nasriddinzoda hopes that in the future, through such grandiose events, Tajikistan will be able to present other aspects of its history and culture.

Following the ceremony, by presidential decrees in honor of the 30th anniversary of the state independence of Tajikistan and for a worthy contribution to the development of cultural relations between Tajikistan and France, Makariou and the Curator of the collections of China and Central Asia Valerie Zaleski were awarded the Order of Friendship.

Also, on behalf of President Rahmon, the Deputy Director of the Museum Kate Mole was presented with a memorable gift of a chakan dress and Tajik national necklaces.

For the first time in the European region, an exhibition of historical exhibits of Tajikistan took place from October 13, 2021 at the Guimet Museum with the direct participation of President Rahmon and the President of France Emmanuel Macron.

During this period, 300 exhibits from the ancient era of the Tajik people to modern times from the National Museum and the National Archaeological Museum of Tajikistan were made available to present the ancient and civilized history and unique art of the Tajik people.

The exhibition played a significant role in strengthening cultural ties between Tajikistan and France.
