President Emomali Rahmon Invites Participants of the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit to Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 23.04.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – In his speech at the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit, President Emomali Rahmon invited all those present to participate in the Second International High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028,” which will be held from June 6 through June 9 in Dushanbe.
“Taking the advantage of this opportunity, I wish to invite all the participants to Dushanbe Conference to contribute to the preparation process to UN Water Conference,” he said.
As the initiator of a New Action Decade “Water for Sustainable Development,» Tajikistan has launched “Dushanbe Water Process,” and in 2018 convened the First High-Level International Conference on this Decade.
The conference will facilitate in linking different global events, including Asia-Pacific Water Summit.
It is noteworthy, that 2023 New-York Conference, which is scheduled to be held under the co-chairmanship of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, will be convened after almost 50 years since the first UN Water Conference was held in 1977.
The 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit will be held from April 23 through April 24 in Kumamoto, Japan where high-level delegations, including heads of state and representatives of international organizations from the Asia-Pacific region, will discuss various issues related to water resources.
Tajikistan will be represented by the Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sharaf Sheralizoda.
