Tajikistan Improves Its Position in the Global Food Security Ranking

DUSHANBE, 25.04.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The tenth edition of the Global Food Security Index has been released, according to which Tajikistan has improved its position by ten positions compared to 2019.
Tajikistan scored 51.6 points in this ranking and is currently in 83rd place among 113 countries. In 2019, Tajikistan was in 93rd place, and in 2020 — in 85th. This score allowed Tajikistan to keep its place in the group of countries with a moderate (acceptable) level of food security.
As noted in the study, if in 2020 Tajikistan produced only 5 kg of meat per capita, by the end of 2021 this figure reached 19 kg. Milk production has also increased from 51 liters per capita in 2020 to 114 liters in 2021.
The latest version of the ranking of countries in terms of food availability sums up the results for 2021.
