DUSHANBE, 19.05.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The Air Force of Tajikistan has air defense systems to fully ensure the protection of the country. This assessment was given yesterday by the military and air force attache at the Russian Embassy in Tajikistan Nikolai Kim, who speak at the round table at the Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University.
“The armed forces of Tajikistan include the Air Defense Forces, which are armed with air defense systems. Their tactical and technical characteristics make it possible to cover the sky in full,” he stressed.
According to him, the countries bordering Tajikistan do not have such a military potential.
“There is no need to worry about the airspace of the republic,” Kim said.
He explained that within the framework of the agreement signed between Tajikistan and Russia, the country joins the regional air defense system, which has the most modern technology.
“When we sign an agreement with Tajikistan, we understand that your Air Defense Forces should have modern means, and there are already C-300 complexes in the republic, which are currently located at one of the training grounds,” Kim said. According to him, representatives of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan have already completed a full course of training in Russia and can operate this type of equipment. In the near future the C-300 will be transferred to the balance of the Armed Forces of the republic.
The agreement between Tajikistan and Russia on the creation of a unified regional air defense system was signed on April 27, 2021 in Dushanbe by the Minister of Defense of Tajikistan Sherali Mirzo and that of Russia Sergey Shoigu.
