President of Tajikistan to Pay an Official Visit to Uzbekistan

DUSHANBE, 01.06.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – At the invitation of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President Emomali Rahmon will pay an official two-day visit to Tashkent.
The agenda of the talks between the leaders of the two countries includes issues of further development and strengthening of Tajik-Uzbek relations of friendship, good neighborliness, strategic partnership, and the expansion of practical interaction in priority areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
Particular attention will be paid to the promotion of joint cooperation projects in the field of trade, industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, energy and other sectors, as well as the continuation of traditionally close interregional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchange.
The heads of state will also exchange views on the current international and regional agenda.
The planned includes the signing of a package of bilateral documents.
As part of the visit a business forum is planned to be held in Tashkent with the participation of leading enterprises of the two countries.
A joint international scientific and practical conference will be held in Tashkent between the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan and the International Institute of Central Asia of Uzbekistan on the topic «The role of strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in ensuring sustainable development in Central Asia.»
The purpose of the event is to strengthen scientific ties, develop a common vision of sustainable development in the region, and create an atmosphere of long-term dialogue in Central Asia.
