Second Dushanbe Water Conference Will Continue Today in Thematic and Interactive Panels

DUSHANBE, 08.06.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The Second Dushanbe Water Conference, which began its work on June 6, will continue today in thematic and interactive panels.
The conference includes twelve thematic and interactive panels. Panels will focus on SDG 6, as well as other water-related targets, the International Decade for Action on Water, and mechanisms for achieving them.
The panels are organized jointly with Dushanbe Water Process partners, including UN member states, UN agencies and programmes, other international and regional organizations, international financial institutions, development partners, private companies, as well as academia and non-governmental organizations.
Today, the themes include: “Promoting actions and partnerships in the field of water resources at the local, national, regional and global levels,” “Improving the sustainability of water resources in urban and rural areas,” “Strengthening the interconnection of water, energy and food in the post-COVID recovery,” “Water and climate: Strengthening interconnections,” interactive panels: “Improving knowledge, education and communication,” “Exiting the Water Framework and promoting integration at all levels,” and “Promoting science-based solutions in the field of water resources and tools.”
The outcomes of the forums and panels will be presented at the plenary session of the conference and included in the final report which will be posted on the conference website.
