Production of Poultry, Eggs and Fish Grows Significantly in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 18.07.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The production of poultry, eggs and fish in Tajikistan has increased significantly over the past six months, reports the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
In January-June 2022, poultry meat production reached 20,300 tons and 576.1 million eggs. This indicator compared to the same period in 2021 is 11.5% and 24.7% higher, respectively.
The number of poultry farms over the past few years has increased by nearly 120 enterprises.
“The fishing industry has also developed rapidly. The number of farms increased by 13, reaching 366. In the first half of 2022, 1,145,300 tons of fish were produced, which is 26.5% more compared to the same period in 2021,” they note.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade also recorded an increase in the total volume of agricultural production in all forms of management during the reporting period, which, having increased by 7.2% compared to 2021, amounted to 13,043,800 somoni. Crop production increased by 6% and livestock by 9.8%.
