Tajik President Supports Actions of Uzbek Counterpart to Ensure Stability and Sustainable Development in Karakalpakstan

DUSHANBE, 05.07.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, in a telephone conversation with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, expressed support for the efforts of the head of the neighboring state to ensure stability and sustainable development in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The parties paid special attention to the issues of strengthening relations of friendship, good neighborliness, strategic partnership and alliance.
Presidents emphasized the importance of promoting joint and mutually beneficial projects in trade, transport, industry, energy, agriculture and other areas.
The launch of the railway passenger service between Tashkent and Dushanbe, the beginning of practical work on the project for the construction of the Yavan hydroelectric power station on the Zarafshan River were noted with satisfaction.
They also had an exchange of views on the forthcoming regular Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.
