DUSHANBE, 26.09.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan, Colonel-General Saimumin Yatimov said on Sunday that peace on the border with Kyrgyzstan is possible subject to strict adherence to the agreements reached.
“Peace will come on the Tajik and Kyrgyz soil if we strictly follow the signed protocols and documents,” Yatimov said at a briefing following the signing of the protocol on the settlement of the situation on the border.
“Today we signed a protocol that can be called a demilitarization protocol. Resolute measures were taken, which are reflected in the protocol, and they must be observed. We also held talks here on the sidelines and agreed that no way conflict should take place on the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border,” he added.
Yatimov also called on politicians and the media to carefully comment on the events related to the conflict.
“We have to be very careful with the use of words, definitions and terminologies. My words refer primarily to the media, individual bloggers, and individual politicians. Every word can harm the cause,” he noted.
