President Calls State Flag the Most Sacred Symbol of Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 24.11.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – President Emomali Rahmon, in his televised congratulatory message on the occasion of the State Flag Day, called it the most sacred symbol of the country, which, with its three colors, is an expression of the mentality, history and essence of the Tajik state, a clear confirmation that Tajiks have a free and independent Motherland.
Today, Tajikistan marks the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the State Flag and this national holiday is celebrated every year with great pride by the people of the country.
According to the President, the adoption of the State Flag at a very difficult period in the history of Tajikistan gave the people fresh strength and hope, rallied and united them so that it was under the State Flag that they restored the constitutional order and ensured peace and tranquility in the country.
“The national flag is a symbol that has a unifying power. It awakens national pride and a passionate feeling of love for the Fatherland in the heart of every citizen,” said Emomali Rahmon.
Undoubtedly, as the Head of State says, protection of the flag and veneration of it is the embodiment of high national feeling and patriotism. The people of Tajikistan, especially teenagers and young people, from the day the State Flag was adopted, always show respect for it and consider it one of the national shrines, a symbol of a peaceful and prosperous life.
On November 16, speaking at a solemn meeting in honor of the 30th anniversary of the XVI session of the Supreme Council at the Arbob Palace, President Emomali Rahmon called the adoption of the State Flag as the state symbol of independent Tajikistan, one of the important achievements of this historic session, personification of independence, unity and national pride of the people of the country.
“As I have already said, the independent Tajik state did not have symbols reflecting its sovereignty for more than a year,” he emphasized.
