DUSHANBE, 20.06.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Speaker of the Ntaional Assembly, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali met with the Russian Deputy Prime Minister.

Initially, Rustam Emomali expressed satisfaction with the appointment of Marat Khusnullin as co-chairman of the Tajik and Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and stressed the great importance of the commission in the effective regulation and promotion of bilateral relations between states.

The meeting focused on the main directions of promising relations of strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Russia, including inter-parliamentary relations.

It was noted that the development and constant expansion of multifaceted relations with Russia occupies a special place in the foreign policy of Tajikistan.

The parties drew attention to a number of important issues of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Russia, as well as the need to continue the efforts of the parties to expand cooperation in the areas of trade and economy, strengthen ties between regions, attract direct investment in the process of accelerated industrialization of Tajikistan, expand cultural, humanitarian and migration connections.

Rustam Emomali drew the interlocutor’s attention to the process of development and prosperity of Dushanbe and the cardinal transformations that have taken place in recent years in the capital of Tajikistan, called the priority areas of enhancing cooperation at the level of the capitals of the two states.
