Preventing the Penetration of Terrorists from Crossing the Borders of Interpol Member States Discussed in Lyon

DUSHANBE, 19.09.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday in Lyon, the Prosecutor General of Tajikistan Yusuf Rahmon held a meeting with the Deputy Secretary General of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) Stephen Kavanagh, during which the issue of preventing the penetration of terrorists across the borders of Interpol member states was discussed.
The meeting also focused on issues related to the international wanted for criminals, the use of various Interpol databases when wanting for certain categories of criminals and missing persons, the online connection of Tajikistan to Interpol databases and other issues of mutual interest.
Separate meetings were also held at the level of specialists of the two parties on the issue of including in the Interpol database persons who have committed extremist-terrorist crimes and are on the international wanted list.
The parties expressed their readiness and interest in strengthening cooperation in various areas.
