Tajikistan’s Experience in Combating Drug Trafficking Presented in Baku

DUSHANBE, 19.09.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Prosecutor General of Tajikistan Yusuf Rahmon took part in the 33rd meeting of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which was held in Baku.
Rahmon presented Tajikistan’s experience in combating drug trafficking at the meeting.
He also held separate bilateral meetings with the prosecutors general of Russia, Azerbaijan and other CIS member states, which focused on issues of detention and extradition of especially dangerous criminals, joint counteraction to terrorism and extremism, cybercrime, drug trafficking, and provision of legal assistance in criminal cases.
Also, the Prosecutor General of Tajikistan took part in the 4th meeting of the prosecutors general of the Economic Cooperation Organization and spoke about the threats of international terrorism in the Central Asian region, taking into account the security situation in Afghanistan.
He held bilateral meetings with the prosecutors general of Turkiye, Iran and other foreign colleagues, as well as discussed the search and detention of especially dangerous criminals, their extradition and other pressing legal issues.
