Issues of Combating Human Trafficking Discussed in Dushanbe
DUSHANBE, 27.10.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The Republican scientific and practical conference “Combating human trafficking, problems and views” was held on October 26 in Dushanbe.
It was noted that human trafficking on a global scale is under close attention of the international community as a crime that violates human rights and freedoms, and a modern form of slavery. The transnational and organized nature of the crime requires united, comprehensive and fully coordinated activities of states.
Tajikistan has not remained aloof from the fight against these negative phenomena and has taken a number of significant and specific measures in this direction.
The purpose of the conference was to promote dialogue between government authorities, law enforcement agencies and civil society organizations in order to exchange experience in combating human trafficking, discuss solutions to this issue, including preventing these unwanted actions, a system of measures to protect and provide assistance to victims of human trafficking.
A number of useful scientific and practical recommendations were adopted following the conference.
