Tajik and Kyrgyz Governmental Delegations Hold Joint Meeting on the State Border Delimitation and Demarcation

DUSHANBE, 02.10.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On October 2, the next joint meeting of the Tajik and Kyrgyz governmental delegations on the state border delimitation and demarcation was held in the Kyrgyz city of Batken, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
Tajik delegation was headed by the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Saimumin Yatimov, and the Kyrgyz delegation was led by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev.
During the meeting, a detailed exchange of views took place on the issue of delimitation of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border.
While having expressed full mutual understanding about the need to intensify further description of the passage of the project line of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border in the remaining sections, the heads of the delegations Yatimov and Tashiev gave appropriate instructions to the working groups.
Topographic working groups and working groups on legal issues of the Tajik and Kyrgyz governmental delegations on the state border delimitation and demarcation will continue to work on describing the project line of the border in the remaining sections.
It was especially noted the need to strengthen friendship, mutual understanding and trust between the border districts, as well as the continuation of active cooperation between the border regions and districts of the two states.
Following the meeting, a protocol was signed.
