Drug Control Agency of Tajikistan and the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Sign Cooperation Agreement

DUSHANBE, 03.11.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On November 2, a signing ceremony took place between the Drug Control Agency under the President of Tajikistan and the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs on cooperation and assistance in the field of combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors.
The agreement was signed in a virtual format by the Director of the Agency Habibullo Vakhidzoda and by the Russian Minister of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev.
The agreement is implemented through the implementation of the Agency’s Assistance Program in the field of combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors during 2023-2025.
The Director of the Agency provided information about the anti-drug policy of Tajikistan and the country’s achievements in the field of drug control.
The parties discussed the situation with drug control in Tajikistan and the region, expressed concern about the growth of Afghan drug smuggling and other related threats and dangers.
In conclusion, the parties expressed their readiness to further develop and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of drug control.
