Financing Agreements for the Project “Reconstruction of the Sogd-500 Substation” Sign in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 29.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – Loan, grant and project agreements were signed between Tajikistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to finance the project “Reconstruction of the Sogd-500 substation.”
The agreements were signed by the Minister of Finance Fayziddin Kahhorzoda and the Head of the EBRD Representative Office in Tajikistan Holger Wiefel.
The goal of the project is to modernize the power transmission system, ensure the stability of power lines, reduce electricity losses and improve power supply in the northern regions of Tajikistan.
The amount of these agreements is €35,400,000, of which €23,000,000 are loans, €10,000,000 are grants and €2,400,000 are technical assistance.
