DUSHANBE, 01.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – The issue of opening a Dangara international airport will be resolved in 2024. It is currently under review and development. It was reported on January 31 by the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of Tajikistan Dilshod Safarzoda at a press conference.
Currently, draft agreements on air services between Tajikistan and Finland, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Malaysia, Moldova, Hungary, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Singapore, Cyprus, Egypt, Hungary and Lithuania are under consideration. There are nuances that should be taken into account. As part of international cooperation of Tajikistan in the field of civil aviation, agreements on air services were signed with 28 foreign countries, including 9 CIS countries (Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Uzbekistan), 7 European countries (France, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Latvia and Turkiye) and 12 Asian countries (Iran, Afghanistan, India, China, Pakistan, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Oman).
In 2023, in order to develop the civil aviation sector, expand cooperation and flight geography, attract foreign capital, increase international routes and transform Tajikistan into a transit country, a lot of work has been done. During this period, meetings were held with representatives of the Azerbaijani airline AZAL, the World Bank, the Cosmelt company of the United Arab Emirates, the French company Thales, the Russian company Veya Invest, the Georgian Airways airline, the UK Aviation Administration, the Kayan Group Company of Saudi Arabia, the Chinese corporation «POWER China International Group».
