Seizure of Dangerous Psychotropic Substances Increased by 3.8 Times in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 05.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – In 2023, the Drug Control Agency of Tajikistan seized 495 kg 97 grams of drugs from illicit trafficking. This was stated by the Director of the Agency Samad Zafar at a press conference.
According to him, this figure is 25 kg 433 grams or 4.9% less than in 2022.
“Despite the fact that drug seizures have decreased, seizures of more dangerous psychotropic substances have increased by 3.8 times, and opium by 37.2%,” noted Zafar.
Last year, Agency employees solved 114 crimes, which is 17.4% less than in 2022.
