DUSHANBE, 04.03.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – The Football Federation of Tajikistan is implementing a new FIFA project — Talent Development Scheme.
This is a project to search for talent and develop players for national teams.
In 2023, the Football Federation of Tajikistan became part of the extensive FIFA Talent Development Scheme. Based on data provided by the Federation, FIFA studied the state of affairs in Tajik football and made several recommendations.
The technical department of the Football Federation of Tajikistan has developed a technical development program until 2026, which describes the key and priority areas of development. One of them is the identification of talented football players, where the most important thing is to give each player the opportunity to prove themselves. The players selected under this system in 2023 today form the backbone of the Tajik U-16 team, which successfully competed in tournaments under the auspices of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) for two years in a row and won the competition. The goal of the technical department of the Football Federation of Tajikistan is to monitor the development and progression of these players.
This year, as part of the project, the Football Federation of Tajikistan plans to identify players from 12 through 16 years old and conduct seminars for talented coaches in youth and women’s teams.
Recently, the technical department held a seminar for coaches of youth teams on the topic “Planning a weekly microcycle in the preparatory period.” In parallel with the seminar, a training camp was held for 23 players selected in December from 65 of the most talented players under 14 years of age. In March, similar events will be held for women’s teams.
