Over 350 Journalists to Cover International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 27.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – More than 350 media representatives from Tajikistan and abroad will cover the High-Level International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation, which will be held in Dushanbe from May 29 to 31. The announcement was made by Shohin Samadi, Head of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
Of the accredited media professionals, 150 represent foreign outlets, including leading international broadcasters such as Euronews, Al Jazeera, and media from Iran and other countries.
To facilitate comprehensive coverage, a fully equipped press center has been established at the Kokhi Somon venue. It includes high-speed internet access, modern computers, printers, and live broadcast screens that will stream the sessions of the conference in real time.
This major international event is being held as part of the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation, which was declared by the UN General Assembly in December 2022 following a proposal by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. The initiative was supported by over 150 UN member states.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, all necessary conditions have been put in place to ensure a productive and high-quality media environment, contributing to global awareness of the conference’s key themes and outcomes.
