DUSHANBE, 16.06.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – As a result of joint operational-search measures conducted by the Operational Unit of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of the Republic of Tajikistan in Khatlon Region and the Border Troops of the SCNS, an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics across the state border was successfully prevented in the area under the responsibility of the “Panjob” border post in Mir Sayid Ali Hamadoni district.
According to the Public Relations Center of the SCNS of Tajikistan, the operation uncovered the trafficking of narcotic substances in especially large quantities from Afghanistan to Tajikistan by a transnational organized group of drug couriers, which included citizens of both Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
During the operation, one of the group’s members, Bobojon Abdulhaq, a Tajik national born in 1991 and resident of Dushanbe, originally from the village of Obshoron, was detained. A search of his green BYD vehicle, belonging to passenger transport company “3333” (license plate 4831ТТ09), revealed 139 packages of narcotics. An additional 41 packages were later discovered in the same area.
Interrogation revealed that Abdulhaq had acquired the narcotics from Afghan traffickers for USD 20,000 and intended to transport them through Dushanbe and Sughd region, with the ultimate goal of smuggling them abroad.

Further investigative actions led to the arrest of his accomplices in Dushanbe and Khujand. The detainees include:
- Akbari Hijrat Akbar, 1994-born citizen of Afghanistan, native of Kabul, residing in Vahdat;
- Qosimzoda Safarali Rahmonali, 1989-born citizen of Tajikistan, resident of Firdavsi district in Dushanbe;
- Ibrohimov Rahmonali Saidaliyevich, 1974-born citizen of Tajikistan, resident of Mir Sayid Ali Hamadoni district;
- Nazirov Dilovar Sulaimonovich, 1989-born citizen of Tajikistan, resident of Khujand, Sughd region.
It was established that after receiving the USD 20,000, Qosimzoda Safarali, in prior collusion with Abdulhaq, transferred the funds to Akbari Hijrat Akbar in Dushanbe for further delivery to Afghan smugglers.
According to the conclusion of the Forensic Department of the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the total weight of the confiscated narcotics was 178.845 kilograms, of which 148.129 kg was hashish and 30.333 kg was opium.
Drug trafficking remains a serious threat to public safety, health, and national stability. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Tajikistan’s law enforcement agencies, large quantities of narcotics are intercepted annually, preventing their distribution across the region and beyond.
In this regard, the fight against narcotics should be viewed as a broader struggle to protect national identity, cultural heritage, and the future of society. Every responsible and conscientious individual must contribute to efforts aimed at combating drug trafficking and supporting law enforcement in eliminating such criminal threats.
