DUSHANBE, 02.08.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Chairman of Dushanbe city Rustami Emomali by his Decree approved a plan of events for the implementation of the project “Automated system of electronic payment and control of travel in the city passenger transport”. According to the Department of Public Information and External Affairs at Dushanbe mayor’s office, the project will be financed as part of interaction of state subsidiaries and the private sector at the expense of LLC “Avesto”.

We will recall that a ceremony of testing model project “Korti Shahri” (“City Card”) electronic payment and control of passenger transportation took place recently with the participation of the Chairman of Dushanbe city Rustami Emomali.

The transition to electronic payment and control will be carried out in three stages. The initial stage — the first months of operation, the second stage will last until the Day of State Independence of Tajikistan and the third will be implemented in December this year.

As an experiment, the electronic payment system was introduced on 29 buses and 28 trolley buses in Dushanbe central route (along Rudaki Avenue).

During familiarization with the new project of payment Chairman of Dushanbe city drew the attention of the industry responsible persons to increase the level of public services, introduce useful forms and methods, strict observance of the rules for the transport of passengers with regard to their safety.

The electronic payment cards can be purchased from the driver, the controller, as well as in special terminals operating at bus stops and other outlets in the city.

To accept electronic payment in urban transport, special equipment is installed — a validator. In the absence of a card, the passenger can pay the fare via the controller and receive a check from him. For pensioners and persons with limited ability, preferential cards have been introduced.
